Action

When is Action needed?

Whilst the NPA inspector is carrying out the investigation, they may notice:

  • There is a risk of serious harm
  • The conditions stated in the NPA licence are not being followed
  • It is unlikely that the OMC will act without additional pressure

The inspector may decide to raise a corrective action.

Who decides what needs to be done?

The NPA inspector decides that the current situation is not acceptable. He writes an action report stating the standard that needs to be achieved and timescales.

The OMC decides what actions they will take to achieve the required standards. Who will do what. They have flexibility to carry out the actions in the best way for their organisation, so long as the required standards are achieved.
